Hello from the NHOP Prayer Room,
Since our NHOP kick-off on 9/11/07, I am constantly asked three questions by family and friends:
“How are you doing?”
“How is NHOP going?”
“What are your greatest challenges?”
To answer the first question, I am doing great. I sure do love being in the prayer room. My life’s call is to be a worshipper and intercessor, and to live a fasted lifestyle. The last 27 or so years, I have spent hours each day in prayer. For years, I was in a prayer room alone and without music, so this is so much more enjoyable for me. To do it with others who burn to know God…wow…what a treat!
We did experience a bumpy time as a family with my 20-year-old son, David, having major surgery to remove a bone tumor in his hip. That was a bit scary, since we did not know until the operation took place if it was benign or not. The pathology report was good and his recovery is almost complete. Thank you for all of your prayers.
As for the second question, I think NHOP is taking baby steps in the right direction. We are thirsting for His presence more than anything else. Furthermore, we are singing and praying scriptures that are based on the beauty and majesty of God. The quality of worship and musicianship has been beyond my expectations. The “volunteer” spirit has been encouraging to see as well. However, my favorite observation so far has been to witness the hunger to know Jesus in a greater measure. I think the Lord by His grace is allowing us to build a House of Prayer in the Spirit of the Tabernacle of David.
Finally, what are NHOP’s greatest challenges? I think they are the familiar needs of all start-up ministries and churches. We need people and money! I am not surprised by our greatest need, which is administration and those that will serve in computer tech work. We will continue to trust the Lord to bring us the correct individuals to help organize our efforts in a greater measure.
I appreciate your faith and your prayers. I think we all long for the day that we can expand our prayer room times, and yet, we are at perfect peace in our four to six hours per day of worship intercession. Our goal during this season is to be faithful to build a worship prayer culture based on a God who likes us.
Happy Holidays!
